My kind of town!

If you follow me on any social media outlets, you probably know that I moved from Phoenix to Chicago about 2 months ago. If this is a shock to you, I’m sorry you had to find out this way.

I moved to Chicago for a job, but also much more than that. I moved for a new adventure! At 23 years old, I couldn’t not jump at the chance to shake things up a bit in the Windy City. So far, I’m having the time of my life. I have the cutest apartment with an awesome roommate in Lakeview, which is a few miles north of downtown. It’s a 4th floor walkup, so you bet I’ll have the most tone legs you’ve ever seen in about a month. I live about 5 minutes walking from Lake Michigan, 3 minutes and 48 seconds (I timed it) from my cousin Steve’s house, and my other cousins live just 5 El stops away! This city amazes me and makes me feel thankful every day. I love taking public transit (sold my car, yippeee!) and walking everywhere. And I know I won’t say this in January, but I love the weather here! Having 4 seasons is just the greatest!

Am I homesick? Duh! Phoenix is my first love, and distance makes the heart grow fonder. Will I ever move back to Phoenix? At this point… nope. I have fallen completely in love with this city and have no plans to leave anytime in the near future. Will I say the same thing in February? Uhh… let’s talk then. But it will probably still be a no because have you even TRIED the pizza here?

What has become of my photography business, you ask? Well, for the first few months here, I focused on getting settled in. But now I’m settled and ready for some shooting! I just booked a wedding for October 2015 in Phoenix, and am looking forward to more in the future! Hopefully I can get a few family shoots in the books before the snow starts to fall at the end of November.

For now, if you know of any families in Chicago needing holiday cards for 2014… I’m your girl. Pass my digits (email address) on.

xoxo

Teagan’s Birth Story

Many of you have known for a while now that I’ve been absolutely dying to do a birth story. Well, back in January, I was contacted by a soon-to-be Mommy, and last month I got to capture the magic of life. The timing was perfect, the birth went amazingly, and baby Teagan is so, so beautiful. I’m very excited to share these images with you all! I admittedly teared up a few times while editing. I loved shooting this birth so much, and can’t wait to do it again in the future. Kat and Danny, she is perfect. Thank you so much for choosing me as your photographer!
